What We Do

Projects

Current Projects:

Funded by Middle Income Workforce Housing funds through the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. GESU awarded $600,000 with a matching grant from Peter Kiewit Foundation of $300,000.  Additional private grants will be used to fund the construction and operating costs of the project.

New construction of 3 single family homes located at 3802 and 3806 Miami Street and 3806 Corby Street. These homes are anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2025 and sold to moderate income households.

Under Construction:

August 9th 2024:  Construction has begun on three new houses in the Clifton Hill Neighborhood.  When completed these homes will be sold to moderate income homebuyers who may also receive downpayment assistance.  We are thankful for the support of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development Middle Income Workforce Housing funding award, a generous matching grant from Peter Kiewit Foundation for construction funding and Sherwood Foundation and others for project support funds. Construction completion is anticipated spring 2025.

Past Projects:

Since 2002, GESU Housing has built and sold 70+ Energy Star 3.1 Certified homes in North Omaha, offering affordable, efficient living and empowering families with stability and lasting homeownership opportunities.
